IT Infrastructure Strategy, Planning and Design
Problem
A major global petroleum manufacturer was struggling to provide
IT services to its growing staff around the world. The company
required assistance in developing a distributed data center
strategy and creating standards for its IT infrastructure.
Solution
Infusion participated in planning sessions to understand the
current landscape and develop a comprehensive IT strategy to
support the business objectives of the company. Some of the
major components of the new IT infrastructure included a
distributed data center design, a redesign of the company's
global Active Directory architecture, and specifications for the
corporate network.
Result
Based on the recommendations provided by Infusion, the company
successfully developed and implemented the new infrastructure
designed during the strategy sessions. Redundant datacenters
provide load balancing and disaster recovery for all IT
services. The infrastructure now supports the integration
of business systems with manufacturing systems across multiple
protected network segments. Directory services allow new
users to be added and their records propagated across the global
network in a matter of minutes rather
than hours.
